Meanwhile in North Carolina…

According to all of the weather and local news channels, our Autumn is going to be one of lots of rain and not many pretty sweater weather days like we’ve hoped. Personally, I thought I’d be able to do cute fall crafts with my little girl under our pretty trees in the front yard, but instead, we are stuck inside watching Blue’s Clues and Sesame Street. Usually, before it became “tsunami season”, we would take walks in the neighborhood and say hi to everything we see (my daughter thinks that EVERYTHING will say hi back to her). We haven’t even been able to cut our grass for about a week – So just imagine how tall it all is!

Apparently, we are supposed to get anywhere from 4-10 inches of rain from now until Sunday. That is not what my Fall season is generally thought to be. We were going to go to pumpkin patches and rake all the leaves into a pile to jump into, but nope. Maybe eventually we will be able to sit outside and enjoy the NICE weather. Our expectation of seasons (or anything in, really) is never what the TV shows or movies show us.

Take a look at this picture. This is the Autumn of our dreams! Beautiful sunlight, colorful leaves everywhere, possibly sitting on a blanket with your favorite coffee in hand…

Yeah, that’s how our blissful fall day is like here in real life.

Needless to say, I’m pretty down about Autumn at the moment. And sadly, those pretty Starbucks coffee cups are not going to make me any happier.

Now for a picture of a NICE fall day!
